the old man is snoring

Artfriend rocks. Especially when you try to shoplift grass. Oh, our obsession with grass. Poor, poor us. Our reputations were at stake for an altruistic purpose. ;) (And I don't understand why an uber-tiny plastic graceful-palm-tree must cost $10.90. Bian4 tai4!)

And the toyshop at Takashimaya rocks. Gosh but we (Von, YH, me, later Maggie) went crazy in there. XDDD

I've been waiting for rain for a long time and it had to come yesterday, of all days. x) It began when Von & Mag & I tried to play hero and walk all the way to the bus-stop outside Castle Green from YCK Mrt station. After that I ditched the umbrella. And then we repeatedly exited and entered the function room. Boo. So wet. My feet rotted yesterday. I could practically feel chemical weathering processes taking place and the regolith peeling from my toes. Ha, ha.

Would have enjoyed the rain if I wasn't wearing shoes and socks =(

Plus the rain made me look more unglam than usual. =( And pesky Euni + Vincent kept taking so many pictures. And then I kept laughing so hard that I lost my voice. (Again.) The dinner was cool. It was literally 'rojak'! And Nana & I kept flirting just to traumatise Vincent. And there was the security guard who kept checking up on us to see if we were playing poker cards. And then there was the infamous saga involving certain people splashing into the pool (voluntarily or otherwise). ;)

It was all very fun. ^_^ HC-ers still always gives me that same fuzzy-warm feeling. I love them so much.

So... happy birthday in advance to dear Li Jun, Jun Yi and Swee Wei! <3

Oh, and happy teachers' day in advance too. Feel bad about not going to school today for Kimmy!

take the coal, touch my lips, here I am

I NEED TO GET THE NEW F.I.R ALBUM =(

Taken last June hols when Yinghui and I went to Genting Highlands!! =) Very nice picture hor. I so love the background, this attraction at the theme park was the best la.

If only our school really looked this inviting, hey?

The recent bout of tests was terrible, can't believe I completely forgot that our prelims are starting NEXT WEEK. I was thinking of skipping Wednesday and then I realized we have GP paper on that day. -__-

SO SO SO SO SICK OF SCHOOL. ESPECIALLY WHEN I GO TO SCHOOL AND LEARN NOTHING. And as much as I would love to, I will NOT turn this entry into a long declaration of my love for one of my English Literature teachers.

I always act like I can't be bothered at all, but, really, I'm very troubled. I don't know what you're thinking at all. But if I have to let go, then so be it.

ITHACA

When you set out on your journey to Ithaca,
pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the angry Poseidon -- do not fear them:
You will never find such as these on your path,
if your thoughts remain lofty, if a fine
emotion touches your spirit and your body.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the fierce Poseidon you will never encounter,
if you do not carry them within your soul,
if your soul does not set them up before you.

Pray that the road is long.
That the summer mornings are many, when,
with such pleasure, with such joy
you will enter ports seen for the first time;
stop at Phoenician markets,
and purchase fine merchandise,
mother-of-pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
and sensual perfumes of all kinds,
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
visit many Egyptian cities,
to learn and learn from scholars.

Always keep Ithaca in your mind.
To arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for many years;
and to anchor at the island when you are old,
rich with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.

Ithaca has given you the beautiful voyage.
Without her you would have never set out on the road.
She has nothing more to give you.

And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not deceived you.
Wise as you have become, with so much experience,
you must already have understood what Ithacas mean.

~Constantine P. Cavafy (1911)
